Crafting has always been a huge part of my life since I was little. My mother was always crafting this or that (which drove my dad mad but hey it kept her sane.) My Aunt is also a craftier and does lots of embroidery (which she should charge for and stop just giving away!) YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!!!!! They are beautiful and if I had a great machine like hers I would be taking full advantage of too. Crafting is fun and I love to do it any chance I get. Which right now is very little and I hate that. When you have a 2 year old running around and a 5 week old wanting to be fed 20 times a day, the 24 hours in a day are gone.
I am lucky to get broken up 5 hours of sleep a night on a good night and less if the baby is not feeling well. Being a SAHM of course saves money from not having to have your children in day care where they will come home sick every other day. BUT on the other hand I have to get out of this house every once in a while or I go CRAZY! Crafting is what helps with that! I also have a little crafting business on the side which I sell at Craft Fairs around the area. Which is very slim pickings for my area because I can't afford to drive an 2 hours for a Craft Fair all day and then drive home. I need to be closer to home for my husband and the kids.
I want to start to branch out from the crafts I had been doing which are for little girls. Hair Bows, Tutu's, Tutu Dresses, Bow Holders and etc. I do want to still do them a bit but I want to start to make other items also to sell to make a little bit on the side.
1. Kids Aprons- Different for the Seasons and also some colorful ones all the rest of the year and maybe with their names on them.
2. Handmade Bags- Just different fabrics for boys and girls.
3. Children Quilts- I know its time consuming but just to say I was able to do a couple would be amazing to me.
So here is just a couple of the ideas at the top of my head that I can think about. I would love to do load of more items but I don't want to get to over confident when I barely have enough time to shower. (LOL) Hopefully I will be able to try some of these out to see if they are even worth trying to sell them.
